J. Zen Meservy, M.D. a Board Certified Psychiatrist and Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, comes from Brown University where he was the Program and Medical Director of the Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities Programs. He has been a leader in developing Inpatient and Partial Programs and run and developed Rural Mental Health Clinics. He attended Medical Schools in Norway and the University of Nevada. He has Adult Psychiatry training from the University of Nevada school of Medicine and Infant, Child and Adolescent training from Brown University School of Medicine where he was recently on the Clinical Faculty training Medical Student, Residents and Fellows. His passion is hands on work with individual patients and families and working with systems to promote health and wellness.
Natalia Eisenberg, M.D. is Board Certified in Psychiatry, Neurology, and Integrative Holistic Medicine. Dr. Eisenberg completed her residency in Psychiatry at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. She now teaches at Washington DC University as an associate clinical professor. Along with teaching she divides her time between Insight Psychological Services, LLC and a private practice in DC. When she is off island she is able to provide continuous care for her St. Thomas patients through telemedicine. Her clinical focus includes anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and women’s issues. |
Omari Peterkin, N.P. Omari is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with 8 years of experience in the medical field with a background in neuroscience, trauma, orthopedics/sports medicine, adult and adolescent mental health/psychiatry. He has previous experience as a multi-sport athlete (tennis, basketball), the latter of which he pursued a collegiate and professional career. Prior to beginning my career in the medical field, he coached high school tennis and basketball for 6 years. In addition to being a PMHNP, Omari has a master’s degree in Physical Education and Coaching with a specialization in Sports Psychology.
Nicolette Cutright (Howells), Ph.D. received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Northern Illinois University. She specializes in providing individual, group, and family therapy to children, adolescents, and their families. Her areas of expertise and interests include trauma, anxiety disorders, depression, bullying, self-injury, autism spectrum disorders, and psychological assessment. In addition to practice, Dr. Cutright teaches at the university level, is a reviewer for a number of academic journals, serves on the VI Board of Psychology Examiners, and currently works at Schneider Regional Medical Center. Dr. Cutright also writes and manages grants at Insight Outreach, a nonprofit that aims to provide free services for the people of the Virgin Islands.
Dr. Cutright is licensed in the VI and the state of Ohio, where she served as the Chair of the Bullying Task Force for the Ohio Psychological Association.
Lori Thompson, Ph.D. grew up in St. Thomas and graduated from All Saints School. She received her master and doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has worked as the Unit Director of the Adolescent Unit at the San Antonio State Hospital, Outpatient Director of Mental Health Services at Bradley Hospital in Providence, RI, and was Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Brown University School of Medicine, and currently also works at Schneider Regional Medical Center. She is happy to have returned home to continue providing psychological services to the people of the Virgin Islands.
Ann Barnard, Ed. D. is a seasoned clinical psychologist with deep roots in the VI community. She received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University, NYC, NY. In addition to maintaining a private practice in St. Thomas where she treats adolescents and adults with a wide range of psychological issues. Dr. Barnard has taught at the University level (Columbia and UVI), written a regular column for the Daily News, has considerable forensic experience, and has served on the VI Board of Psychological Examiners since 1997 (Chair, 2000-2008). Her particular clinical interests are treating the sequela of severe trauma, couples therapy, and treating mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. She offers a caring and nurturing environment where insight, healing and growth can take place.
Kathleen Cunningham, MSW is a Licensed Certified Independent Social Worker and a holistic counsellor who has practiced in the VI for over twenty years. Katie is passionate about helping clients live a more empowered, authentic, happy and healthy life. She is a certified Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist and Meditation Instructor. Katie works with couples and families by teaching conscious communication techniques. For many years now, Katie has also been a support to those in the community who have been in need of grief counseling or who have survived sexual abuse, domestic violence or violent crimes. Katie is excited to offer yoga therapy in which life’s challenges are addressed with talk therapy, but from the yoga mat while practicing gentle stretching, breathing and meditation exercises. Katie earned her Master in Social Work from New York University.
Kirstyn Livingston, M.A. provides individual and group therapy to adults and adolescents in private practice, community mental health, residential, and corrections settings. Originally trained in a primarily cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) oriented program with strong emphasis on empirically supported, evidence-based treatment strategies; she also incorporates mindfulness and integrative health components. Ms. Livingston works with adults and adolescents who are struggling with stress, insomnia, adjustment issues, depression, and anxiety disorders. In addition to therapy, Ms. Livingston provides cognitive screenings and psychological evaluations, including vocational, IQ, pre-employment, pre-bariatric, and adult ADHD evaluations.
Dionne Simmonds, Ph.D., LCSW, CAC1 is a native to the shores of the Virgin Islands. Her formal education includes both the disciplines of Psychology and Social Work. She received her Master and Doctoral degrees in Social work from Norfolk State University, Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Simmonds specializes in the treatment of addictions. She prides herself in using a person-centered approach to therapy, which is evidenced by her love, genuine desire to serve and assist in healing the people of the Virgin Islands.
Angelina Prince-Jeffers, Ph. D. obtained her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fielding University, an APA accredited program. Mrs. Prince has over 7 years of clinical experience with varying populations. She specializes in trauma, severe mental illness, and psychological assessment. Mrs. Prince completed her Doctoral Internship at Centerstone behavioral hospital and addiction center, an APA accredited program. She has worked with Insight Psychological Services, LLC since February of 2018.
Bonnie Roy, MSW is a Licensed Certified Independent Social Worker who received her Master in Social Work from Salem State University. She is also licensed in Massachusetts and is a member of the National Association of Social Workers with the Academy of Certified Social Workers’ credential. Ms. Roy has had experience in a wide variety of areas with a diverse population, including medical and psychiatric hospital care, adolescent treatment, special education, and all areas of domestic violence.
